OK Boomer for 5-19-23

Let’s go back and think about our teenage years….when we went to the sock hop at the Junior High, or the teen center. But imagine what it be like to return to the that special place 60 years later.

Sandi Bullar is the person we're talking about and the director of a local senior citizens center. We’ll hear from Sandi.

Then we go to a nurse who has seen a big change in rural health in the past thirty years. And nurse Sharon Lawless tells us that the changes are good.

Then comes our movie review. No, it’s not a current movie, but one you might have seen as a kid.  12 O'clock High is about the first Americans who fought in Europe at the beginning of World War Two. Gregory Peck stars as Brigadier General Frank Savage from the 1949 film.

And we’ll cover unhealthy habits some of us have learned during Covid, and learn what Long Covid and can do to the brain.

Then we’ll examine a survey that shows half of the women in the US are struggling financially.

In other news...

Apparently, Americans want Congress to address family caregiving problems.

And a lack of healthcare workers worldwide has led to excess deaths.

Later, we’ll talk with Beverely Shofstall of Free Again Wildlife Rehabilitation.

That's next on OK Boomer where "We're keepin' it real!"
